These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Lexi mobile application ("Lexi", "the App"). By downloading, accessing, or using Lexi, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. About Lexi

Lexi is a personal dictionary and vocabulary-learning application designed to help users save words, add context, and practice vocabulary. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

Lexi stores user data locally on your device using a local database. Lexi does not require account creation in its current version.

2. Data Storage and Responsibility

All words, lists, and learning data created in Lexi are stored locally on your device. Lexi does not automatically back up your data to external servers.

You are responsible for maintaining your device and ensuring that your data is backed up appropriately. Lexi is not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, app removal, operating system updates, or other factors outside of its control.

3. In-App Purchases

Lexi may offer optional in-app purchases. These purchases may include, but are not limited to:

  • Unlimited number of saved words
  • Unlimited training or practice sessions

In-app purchases are processed and managed by Apple through the App Store. Lexi does not have access to your payment information.

All purchases are final and subject to Apple’s App Store policies, including their rules on refunds, cancellations, and billing. Please review Apple’s App Store Terms and Conditions for more information.

4. App Availability and Changes

Lexi is an early version of the application. Features, functionality, and availability may change over time.

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any part of the App
  • Add new features or limitations
  • Change pricing or purchase options

Any changes will comply with applicable App Store rules and will be reflected in updated versions of these Terms when appropriate.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Lexi only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the App in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the App
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without permission

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to Lexi and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The App was developed by a solo developer, Oleksandra Ovcharova, and she retains all rights not expressly granted herein.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes only.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lexi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific expectations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lexi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of progress, or device-related issues.

9. Third-Party Rules and App Store Terms

Your use of Lexi is also subject to Apple’s App Store Terms of Service and other applicable Apple policies. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple’s rules, Apple’s rules shall apply.

10. Termination

You may stop using Lexi at any time by uninstalling the App from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if required by law or App Store policies.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
